Exclamation Smart parts Max Flow - 29-01-2006 , 10:34 PM

Guys I have a leak on my max flow (above) coming from the On / Off...... I'm guessing from looking at the schematics it's just a couple of O-Rings.... (10/90) ???
So questions

1. Can I do it myself?
2. Where's the best place to get an O-ring from?
3. Where is the best place to have repairs done?

Thanks for ya help....

Alright, i dont seem to no much about those max-flows as i have only used manifold and micro, but just to check the on/off is the silver thing on the left off the gauge right next to it? If not then this will all be wrong

Well and way from what i remember there is a C-clip on the other side of the on/off holding the tube in? wellnif there is you want to take the c-clip off take the tube out and check for a very small o-ring inside on either the left or right. you want to put a pin/thin metal thing in the hole and try to get the little o-ring out. If that has a little notch out of it then that will be your problum. If this is then PM me as i may have a little o-ring that you need.

P.S. that may all be completly wrong as i got all that kind of from the manifold version but i think the on/off on that is kind of same as micro

Forgot about your questions

1: yes you can do it your self
2: i may have some but if not give SP a ring
3: if all else fails send it to SP for a service

That is what smart parts charge for delivery. You will find it takes several days to come as well.

Instead of me starting a new thread I thought it would be best to continue this one. I am looking to buy a max-flo micro for my Ion (http://www.smartparts.com/Products/MaxFloMicro.aspx). But yup you have guessed it not quite sure if this would be a bonus for my Ion. I am guessing it would make it easier for me to take the bloody air tank off instead of trying to have hands of steel and twist the tank off................

You need an on/off Gambit. The built up air in the asa puts lots of pressure on the bottle threads. I would suggest a Planet Eclipse oops (on off purge system) or the new designz equivalent.

Your existing bottle will be fine.

if you get a max-flow micro you wont rele be able to take the bottle of easier than a screw off pre-set one, but what you will need to do is turn air off on the M-F(max-flow) shoot the gun till there is no air in it(decompresed) pull out the macro line undo the mini rail grub screws and slide the max-flow and bottle off.

When transporting my gun all i do is turn the air off and shoot it dry and just always keep it in my kitbag with bottle attatched, hope this helps

So now my dilema is do I get the

1. Max Flow Micro
2. On/Off Purge system

is there any preferance to what is better and reasons behind it?

err well i have prefered the max-flow and no the micro is out its alot smaller and lighter than all its predecessors and very good ai flow. But its all personal preferance, i prefer a shorter back end of a gun(bottle) and with the max flow you can have the choice but with a on/off its usually longer as you have the on/off then the bottle reg so you need a drop forward to make it shorter, but as i said its personal preference
